March, 2017

The regular business meeting of the Haddonfield 65 Club was held March 9, 2017. President Henry Leimkuhler called the meeting to order at 1:30 PM. There were 19 members present.
The meeting began with the Pledge to the flag, followed by the singing of God Bless America. Chaplain Lou Dunkle gave an inspiring talk based upon the scripture reading for the coming Sunday.
The secretary read the minutes from the last Business Meeting held on February 9,2017. The minutes were approved as read.
Walt Baker gave the treasurer’s report and posted it on the bulletin board. Walt reported that 6 members still have not paid their 2017 dues.
Members welcomed Winston Extavour as a new member at the meeting. Winston agreed to give a talk at a future meeting on immigration.
Bernie Schaming reported that he has signed up 16 members and/or spouses for the Feed My Starving Children event from 8am to 10am on Saturday March 25th.
Al Schmidt reported that he has a speaker from a micro-brewery lined up for March 16.
There were brief reports on bridge, pinochle, and bowling.
Bill Brown reiterated the upcoming trips to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island on April 4th, the June 6th fishing trip, and the June 20th Phillies game. He also announced that the Mable Kay house is sponsoring a St. Patty’s day dinner on Sat, March 18th at Grace Episcopal Church at 2PM. Bill also reported that 8 people were present for the second movie in the Shogun series.
President Leimkuhler reminded members that the Ladies Spring Luncheon is only two months away.
Lou Dunkle reported that Don Wallace has had a tough month. He has been in and out of the hospital and is currently at Lions Gate rehab in Voorhees. Walt Baker reported that Joe Haro is now home after his recent hospital stay.
The meeting was adjourned to refreshments at 2:20 PM.
