Al also provided another of his 100 years ago stories. This time 100 years ago, NJ & PA began discussions on the need for a new bridge the ferry traffic was slow and overburdened. The new bridge opened in 1926 and has become known as the Ben Franklin bridge. It was pointed out that our deceased member, Jack Nunneville, was one of the first people to cross the new bridge. His grandfather’s funeral procession was allowed to cross the bridge the day before it opened to the public.
It was reported that Charles Legge was doing poorly when last visited.
Bill Brown reported that he has 29 people signed up so far for the Phillies game on Tuesday evening, August 28th.
Tom Diemer announced that the Indian King will hold its annual beer tasting fundraiser on September 22nd. Since this is the largest fundraiser for the organization, Tom encouraged members to come out and support the event.
The meeting adjourned to refreshments at 1:55pm.
