June, 2019


The regular business meeting was held on June 13, 2019. President Jay Cokos called the meeting to order at 1:30 PM. There were 21 members present.
The meeting began with the Pledge of Allegiance and the singing of God Bless America. In our Chaplin, David Tarditi’s absence the invocation was given by Saul Resnick.
The secretary read the minutes from the last Business Meeting held on April 11, 2019. The minutes were approved as read. He also read the minutes from the board of director’s meeting held on June 6th, 2019.
In David Tarditi’s absence, members were referred to the treasurer’s report which was posted on the bulletin board.
There were no new members to introduce at this meeting.
Frank Lodge reported that he will request help after the June 20th and 27th meetings to assemble the material for the 4th of July parade.
Jay Cokos announced that June 15th will be Super Hero Saturday at the Cherry Hill Mall. There will be live music, face painting, balloons, puzzles along with appearances by Spiderman and Black Widow.
Jay also announced that tonight, June 13 is Haddonfield Food Truck night and on June 17th, the Haddonfield Educational Trust Golf and BBQ will be held at Tavistock.
Henry Leimkuhler reported that the friendship committee has sent memorials in the name of Warren Tomlinson and John Drew.
Saul Resnick reported that he has secured the Weiderman team of father and son to speak at the Fall Stag Luncheon on October 10th.  In addition, there are 3 open dates left in the year for speakers, one in November and 2 in December.
Bill Brown reported that we have 34 people signed up for the Phillies game against San Francisco on July 30th. The cost of tickets is $50. There is still room on the bus and a sign-up sheet is available in the clubhouse.
Bill also announced that a trip to Laurel Hills cemetery and Girard College will be on July 9th. For this trip there is a limited bus capacity of 12 people. He is also finalizing arrangements for a Brandywine museum trip on September 25th.
There were brief reports on bowling, bridge, and pinochle provided by the various activity chairmen.
After announcing some of the events of this day in history, President Cokos adjourned the meeting to refreshments at 2:00.
