September,2018


The meeting was called to order by our president, Al Schmidt, promptly at, 1:30 PM. There were 19 members present.

The meeting began with the Pledge of Allegiance and the singing of God Bless America followed by an invocation by our Chaplin, David Tarditi.

The secretary read the minutes from the last Business Meeting held on August 9, 2018. The minutes were approved as read. He also read the minutes from the board of director’s meeting held on September 6.

David Tarditi gave the treasurer’s report and posted it on the bulletin board. The big expense this month was the pop-up tent with the club logo, which was approx. $700.

New member Larry Mazzu introduced himself to the club and was given a warm welcome.

Jay Cokos reported that next week’s speaker would be a well-known writer. Also, the speaker from the Library was rescheduled for the end of November.

Al reminded members that we all should be looking for speakers as well as new members. He also reminded the members about the Indian King beer tasting on September 22nd. Al announced that Camden County is sponsoring a Senior Health Fair on Oct 4th at the Crown Plaza in Cherry Hill. Most importantly Al reminded the members that the next business meeting will be the Fall Luncheon at Tavistock at 12 noon.

Bernie discussed how the flea market is normally run and it appears that we have all our bases covered for transportation, setup, and sales. After the meeting today, the members planned to sort and price items for the market.

Bernie also provided a brief update on Charles Legge and Dan Colombi Howard indicated that Charles is now at the Atrium in Woodbury (the location of the old Woodbury Country club) and Dan is now at Power Back in Moorestown.

Bill Brown reported that he has 20 people signed up so far for Mercer Museum trip on October 16th. We need 40 to break even.

Bridge, pinochle and bowling all begin their competitive season this week. Dennis Kille reported that they had 24 folks out for golf this week.

The meeting adjourned to refreshments at 2:00pm.
