July, 2023

 The regular business meeting was held in the 65 Club clubhouse on Thursday July 13, 2023.

President David Tarditi called the meeting to order at 1:30 PM. There were twenty-four (24) members

attending in person and an unknown number on Zoom.

Dave led The Pledge of Allegiance and provided a prayer.

Minutes –Fred Willis

 The minutes of the last Business Meeting, held on June 8, 2023, were read. They were approved

without changes.

 The minutes of the last Board of Directors Meeting, held on July 6, 2023, were read.

President’s Report –David Tarditi

 4 th of July Parade

o The total parade cost was $237 + $40 = $277. The `baseball’ dog cards were $40.

o The parade was talked about by many people. It was a PR success for the club.

o Dave questioned whether the proposed reception at the clubhouse for the dog owners was

required. The house is small and could it even handle 25 dogs? Being in the parade

seemed to be sufficient award to many owners.

Speakers – Joe Galliera - 1st VP

 Joe reported speakers are booked through July and a few in September.

Membership – Chuck Kanupke – 2 nd VP

 Bob Warner, a golf player, and former club member attended and will rejoin the club.

Treasurer’s Report – Hank Zaleski

 June was a low activity month.

 Income $750, Expenses $415. Cash Jar $160

 Projection – the club will spend about $1000 more than expected, mainly due to increased

member recruitment costs. The income will increase by about $300 due to increased

membership.

Event Committee Reports

 Bowling, golf, pinochle, and bridge continue.

 Coffee and Conversation is attracting a steady membership. This week six attended.

 Bernie informed the member bridge lessons are going well. One member, of Bernie’s tutelage, is

beginning to win.

Trips/Events – Steve Anderson

 There are six (6) spots open on the bus for the August 1 Phillies stadium trip.

Old Business

 Website

o Al and Chuck have begun posting revisions on the club website

New Business

 Stag Luncheon

o The annual Stag Luncheon is scheduled for October 12.

o Dave Tarditi and Abe Ferdas will meet with Tavistock today to discuss the menu.

 Cathedral Kitchen

o Jim Carrano informed the members the Cathedral Kitchen needed volunteers to make

and donate beef baloney or peanut butter sandwiches for distribution to needy people

on the third Thursday of each month. Please contact the club for details if interested.

 Community Solar

o Al Schmidt described this state program.

 Flea market.

o The Flea market, the club’s only money raising activity, will be held with the Lions

club on Saturday September 9. Donations will be accepted in August.

Fellowship

 Bill Brown is still in rehab and recovering.

Joke Master

Neil Wise showed he is a multi-faceted joke teller. Last month he told a joke on zoom, this month he told

one in person. The members sat in awe. Joe Galliera also contributed a joke to the club’s history of jokes,

but it is best to discuss another subject.

President David Tarditi adjourned the meeting at 2:15 PM.
