February, 2022

 The regular business meeting was held in the 65 Club clubhouse on Thursday February 10, 2022.

President Roger Jacobs called the meeting to order at 1:30 PM.  There were approximately twenty (20) members attending with five (5) on Zoom.

Dave Tarditi led The Pledge of Allegiance and provided a prayer.

Minutes – Fred Willis

·        The minutes of the last Business Meeting, held on January 13, 2021, were read.  They were approved without changes.

·        The minutes of the last Board of Directors Meeting, held on February 3, 2022, were read. 

President’s Report – Roger Jacobs

·        The borough will have Carriage rides, along with other events and activities, on Valentine’s Day.

·        Phil Kinsey and Bernie Schaming are updating the membership list.

·        This Sunday, February 13, the Tri State Jazz Society will have a jazz concert at the Methodist Church.

·        The Lions Club will have the Mayor’s breakfast March 19 at the First Presbyterian Church. The Haddonfield person of the year will be announced.

·        The Mayors Service Volunteer organization will meet by Zoom on February 25

·        There is some talk of reviving the Haddonfield Fall Festival.  The borough is looking for ideas for the Fall Festival.

·        Carelton Chin, a club member and known football handicapper, predicts the the Rams in the Superbowl.  Roger mention a personal attachment he ahs ot the Cincinattie Begals.  The quster abck, Joe Barrows, cosmes from Athens Ohio the home of Ohio University.  Several of Roge’rs grandchildren go to Ohio University. 

·        Frank Lodge needs ideas for the club’s theme for the Fourth of July parade.

Treasurer’s Report – Hank Zaleski

·        Hank informed the members the number of unpaid members was reduced to eight (8) with two members promising to pay shortly.  Hank will contact the remaining unpaid members if they are Haddonfield Residents.

Speakers – David Tarditi - 1st VP

Dave reported there wer no cahnge in speakers.

Membership – Joe Galliera – 2nd VP

·        Joe received the possible members names from Bill Brown.  Joe will contact these possible, members.

Event Committee Reports

Trips/Events - Bill Brown

·        Bill is still waiting to hear from SCUCS about a trip to see the Phillies.

·        The spring luncheon will be held on May 12 at Tavistock. Price is $33 per person. Food and attendance details will be sent out shortly. 

Friendship – Henry Leimkuhler

·        Jack Marchesani has returned home from the hospital but is not doing well.

Bowling – Walt Baker

·        Bowling continues on Friday morning at 9:30 AM

Bridge – Bernie Schaming

·        Bridge continues on Monday, this week twelve (12) played

Pinochle – Tom Mervine

·        Pinochle continues on Wednesday, this week ten (10) played

Chess – Fred Willis

·         Bill and Fred played several games. Both played as if they had never seen the game before.

Tai Chi

·        There were two attendees this week, The class is held Monday morning.

Old Business

·        Ice cream was served early.

New Business

·        None

Joke Master

Bill Brown, announced the well. crowd was large enough for him to tell his joke.  After he told it, the members wished the crowd wasn’t that large.

Roger told his first joke as President. The members also hoped it was his last.

President Roger Jacobs adjourned the meeting at 12:10 PM.
