The regular business meeting was held on February 13, 2020. President Bill Brown called the meeting to order at 1:30 PM.  There were 25 members present.

The meeting began with the Pledge of Allegiance and the singing of God Bless America.  Our Chaplin, David Tarditi, gave the invocation.

The secretary read the minutes from the last Business Meeting held on January 9, 2020.  The minutes were approved as read.  He also read the minutes from the board of director’s meeting held on February 6, 2020.

Treasurer, Dave Tarditi, gave the financial report and posted the details on the bulletin board.

Reports

Roger Jacobs – 2^nd VP – Roger informed the club of the importance of attracting new members.  He stated personally inviting new members was the most effective method but the club would proceed advertising in local publications will also be used.  He requested ideas from the membership.

New member Jeff Clark was introduced.  Jeff gave a brief introduction of himself.

Speakers - Frank Lodge – 1^st VP – Frank informed the club was in contact with the Camden County Recreation Department concerning a musical group they sponsor. The group is a possible candidate for providing entertainment at the May Spring Luncheon.  Additional information will be forthcoming.

The next club meeting speaker will discuss real estate.

Membership – Henry Leimkuhler – Henry informed the club Dan Columbi had successful surgery and was at home recovering.

Activities - Bridge, pinochle and bowling are continuing with steady attendees.  Golf has ended for the year but the golfers are looking forward to a spring start.

Trips

Bill Brown informed the club there were signup sheets available for the various upcoming trips.  The club is receiving calls, from non-club members who regularly attend the trips, about future trips. These non-club members are providing trip payment with their reservation requests. This is important because club members are not always providing payment with their sign ups.

Newsletter Editor Dewaine Osman informed President Bill Brown he must step down from the position due to health reasons. Data Base manager Phil Kinsey volunteered to assume the newsletter editor position and President Bill Brown appointed him to the position.

Al Schmidt informed the club he compiled a list of information, history and instructions on the club for distribution to new or infrequently attending members.  This list will be posted on the clubs’ website.

The meeting’s membership, which exceeded the bylaws quorum, approved the bylaw revision to add the Data Base Manager and Newsletter Editor to the Board of Directors. 

President Bill Brown adjourned the meeting to poppy making and refreshments at 2:00.

The regular business meeting was held on January 9, 2020. President John Cokos called the meeting to order at 1:30 PM.  There were 28 members present

The meeting began with the pledge of Allegiance and the singing of God Bless America.  Our Chaplin, David Tardiit, gave the invocation.

The secretary read the minutes from the last Business Meeting held on November 14, 2019.  The minutes were approved as read.  He also read the minutes from the board of director’s meeting held on January 2, 2020.

Treasurer, Dave Tarditi, gave the financial report and posted the details on the bulletin board.

Incoming new member, Steven Wright introduced himself and gave a brief work history.  Steve will be formally approved at the February 13 meeting

President John Cokos made a short farewell speech before introducing the new officers and board.  John described the enjoyment he had as president. He thanked 1^st VP Saul Resnick and 2^nd VP Frank Lodge for their help; the speaker lineup, performed by Saul was tremendous.  The club gave Saul an ovation.

President Cokos then introduced the incoming officers for 2020.  These are Bill Brown – President, Frank Lodge – 1^st VP, Roger Jacobs – 2^nd VP, Fred Willis – Secretary, David Tarditi – Treasurer, Don Mirano – Assistant Treasurer. The new board members Howard Rementer, Dewaine Osman, Henry Leimkuhler, Philip Kinsey, Bernie Schaming were introduced and officers and board members were sworn in.

New president Bill Brown assumed his position and began to conduct the meeting. President Brown stated his major goal for the year would be to increase Haddonfield club Members.  He also hopes to increase the activities the club supports

Reports

Roger Jacobs – 2^nd VP – Roger informed the club Joe Haro is in the hospital.

Frank Lodge – 1^st VP – Frank informed the club Stuart Harding would speak in place of Joe Haro next week.  Stuart will speak on the Haddonfield Sculpture Week.  Joe McElroy will speak and instruct the members on poppy assembly on January 23.  January 30 date is open.  Frank received three speaker cancelations in the past few days.

Activities - Bridge, pinochle and bowling are continuing with steady attendees.  Golf has ended for the year.

The club received a note from the family of non-attending member George Tice.  George is 101 and enjoys reading the monthly newsletter.

The club was notified member Ken Landgraf wife died recently.

John Cokos inform the club that last year speaker Buntzie Chuchill was speaking at the fortnightly on January 14.

Haddonfield Mayor Neil Rochford attended the meeting and invited the club members to attend the Mayors Breakfast on January 18 at the Presbyterian church.  The Haddonfield person of the year award will be presented and the Bourgh commissioners will present the status and plans of the departments they are responsible for. The Mayor also answered some club members questions on various borough issues and problems.’ He will investigate whether borough will purchase laptop PC computer for the 65 club because the building is Haddonfield property and all properties should have a computer.

John Cokos presented several historical facts for the Good of the Order.  President Bill Brown adjourned the meeting to refreshments at 2:15.

The regular business meeting was held on November 14, 2019. President John Cokos called the meeting
to order at 1:30 PM. There were 20 members present
The meeting began with the pledge of Allegiance and the singing of God Bless America. Our Chaplin,

The secretary read the minutes from the last Business Meeting held on September 12, 2019. The minutes
were approved as read. He also read the minutes from the board of director’s meeting held on November
7, 2019.
Treasurer, Dave Tarditi, gave the financial report and posted the details on the bulletin board.
There were no new members at the meeting. Frank Lodge, the 2 nd VP was not present to report on the
membership. However Rich Cunliffee reported a friend he brought to the Wine and Cheese party appaid
id his dues for the club and will be joining. His paper work must still be completed though.
Saul Resnick, the 1 st VP was not present but John Cokos informed us Saul had lined up speakers till April.
Bill Brown informed us the Tropicana trip had 35 sign ups. The breakeven point is 40 sign ups. One
member suggested the club hook with Scotts(?) to provide trips. Bill said that had been investigated but
most of their trips were not on Tuesday the usual 65 club day. Tuesday is a traditional for trips because
activities are scheduled for other days. If the trip day is changed then some members will be excluded.
A sign-up sheet for the Christmas meeting will be provided next week. Saul is still looking for 5
members to describe their Christmas experiences.
Dues for 2020 are now due.
Members acting as marshals for the Diabetes Run should arrive at the clubhouse by 8:00 for donuts and
coffee. The club received a request from the Fortnightly to provide marshals for their December 3
Snowflake Run. John will ask Joe Galleria if he wants to handle this or should interested members
contact the Fortnightly directly.
Bill Brown informed us the Salvation army will be permitted to solicit funds at the Haddonfield Acme on
December 6. Anyone interested in helping should contact Bill for a time.
The club received a thank you note from the Methodist Home in Collingswood for a contribution in the
name of member Donald Gosnay, who passed away recently.
Bill Brown conducted an auction of wine and cheese that was not consumed at the party. The auction
raised $60 for the club.
John presented several historical facts for the Good of the Order. President Cokos adjourned the meeting
to refreshments at 2:20.

June, 2019

The regular business meeting was held on June 13, 2019. President Jay Cokos called the meeting to order at 1:30 PM. There were 21 members present.

The meeting began with the Pledge of Allegiance and the singing of God Bless America. In our Chaplin, David Tarditi’s absence the invocation was given by Saul Resnick.

The secretary read the minutes from the last Business Meeting held on April 11, 2019. The minutes were approved as read. He also read the minutes from the board of director’s meeting held on June 6^th, 2019.

In David Tarditi’s absence, members were referred to the treasurer’s report which was posted on the bulletin board.

There were no new members to introduce at this meeting.

Frank Lodge reported that he will request help after the June 20^th and 27^th meetings to assemble the material for the 4^th of July parade.

Jay Cokos announced that June 15^th will be Super Hero Saturday at the Cherry Hill Mall. There will be live music, face painting, balloons, puzzles along with appearances by Spiderman and Black Widow.

Jay also announced that tonight, June 13 is Haddonfield Food Truck night and on June 17^th, the Haddonfield Educational Trust Golf and BBQ will be held at Tavistock.

Henry Leimkuhler reported that the friendship committee has sent memorials in the name of Warren Tomlinson and John Drew.

Saul Resnick reported that he has secured the Weiderman team of father and son to speak at the Fall Stag Luncheon on October 10^th.  In addition, there are 3 open dates left in the year for speakers, one in November and 2 in December.

Bill Brown reported that we have 34 people signed up for the Phillies game against San Francisco on July 30^th. The cost of tickets is $50. There is still room on the bus and a sign-up sheet is available in the clubhouse.

Bill also announced that a trip to Laurel Hills cemetery and Girard College will be on July 9^th. For this trip there is a limited bus capacity of 12 people. He is also finalizing arrangements for a Brandywine museum trip on September 25^th.

There were brief reports on bowling, bridge, and pinochle provided by the various activity chairmen.

After announcing some of the events of this day in history, President Cokos adjourned the meeting to refreshments at 2:00.

November, 2018

The meeting was called to order by our president, Al Schmidt, promptly at, 1:30 PM. There were 16 members present.

The meeting began with the Pledge of Allegiance and the singing of God Bless America followed by an invocation by our Chaplin, David Tarditi.

The secretary read the minutes from the last Business Meeting held on September 13, 2018 since there was no business meeting in October due to the Fall Luncheon. The minutes were approved as read. He also read the minutes from the board of director’s meeting held on November 1.

David Tarditi gave the treasurer’s report and posted it on the bulletin board. He reminded members that dues are now due for 2018.

New member Brian Meyers introduced himself to the club and was given a warm welcome.

Al reported that the nominating committee has been soliciting members to serve on the board of directors as well as a 2^nd VP for 2019. Anyone interested should contact Al. A slate of officers will be presented at a December meeting at which time nominations from the floor will also be considered. Voting will occur at the January business meeting after which the new directors and officers will be sworn in.

Al also noted that Brandywine is hosting an Alzheimer’s walk on Nov 17^th at 11am and that the Kiwanis club is selling fruit from October 22md to November 18^th. Al reminded members that 100 years ago on Nov 8^th the Germans were making preparations for Armistice negotiations.

Bill Brown reported that the wine & cheese party is this Saturday, Nov 10^th at Grace Episcopal Church hall at 6pm. There will be two forms of entertainment this year, Jack Poupard’s band and a young singer.

The Children’s Diabetes Run will take place on Saturday November 24^th. Club members participating as marshals should b=meet at the club at 8am where there will be coffee and pastries.

Bill Brown reported that the December trip to the Tropicana on Dec 4^th is now open for reservations and members can sign up at the club or contact Bill. The cost of the trip is $45 which i9ncludes the bus, $15 in slot play, lunch at Carmines after 12:30pm and the Christmas show at 3:30pm.

Al Schmidt reminded members that the annual Christmas party will be held on December 13^th in lieu of a regular business meeting.

The meeting was called to order by our president, Al Schmidt, promptly at, 1:30 PM. There were 19 members present.

The meeting began with the Pledge of Allegiance and the singing of God Bless America followed by an invocation by our Chaplin, David Tarditi.

The secretary read the minutes from the last Business Meeting held on August 9, 2018. The minutes were approved as read. He also read the minutes from the board of director’s meeting held on September 6.

David Tarditi gave the treasurer’s report and posted it on the bulletin board. The big expense this month was the pop-up tent with the club logo, which was approx. $700.

New member Larry Mazzu introduced himself to the club and was given a warm welcome.

Jay Cokos reported that next week’s speaker would be a well-known writer. Also, the speaker from the Library was rescheduled for the end of November.

Al reminded members that we all should be looking for speakers as well as new members. He also reminded the members about the Indian King beer tasting on September 22^nd. Al announced that Camden County is sponsoring a Senior Health Fair on Oct 4^th at the Crown Plaza in Cherry Hill. Most importantly Al reminded the members that the next business meeting will be the Fall Luncheon at Tavistock at 12 noon.

Bernie discussed how the flea market is normally run and it appears that we have all our bases covered for transportation, setup, and sales. After the meeting today, the members planned to sort and price items for the market.

Bernie also provided a brief update on Charles Legge and Dan Colombi Howard indicated that Charles is now at the Atrium in Woodbury (the location of the old Woodbury Country club) and Dan is now at Power Back in Moorestown.

Bill Brown reported that he has 20 people signed up so far for Mercer Museum trip on October 16^th. We need 40 to break even.

Bridge, pinochle and bowling all begin their competitive season this week. Dennis Kille reported that they had 24 folks out for golf this week.

August, 2018

The meeting was called to order by our president, Al Schmidt, promptly at, 1:30 PM. There were 22 members present.

The secretary read the minutes from the last Business Meeting held on July 12, 2018. The minutes were approved with one correction. He also read the minutes from the board of director’s meeting held on August 6.

David Tarditi gave the treasurer’s report and posted it on the bulletin board.

Jay Cokos reported that next week’s speaker will be the Haddonfield librarian and the following week will be a speaker on veteran’s affairs.

Al reminded members that the next Jazz concert will be Aug 19^th at Haddonfield United Methodist Church at 2pm. He also reminded members that the flea market will be Sept 15^th so start gathering your unwanted treasures for donation to the club for this fund raiser.

Al reported that Joe Murphy has started a dance class for autistic children and that it very successful.

Al also provided another of his 100 years ago stories. This time 100 years ago, NJ & PA began discussions on the need for a new bridge the ferry traffic was slow and overburdened. The new bridge opened in 1926 and has become known as the Ben Franklin bridge. It was pointed out that our deceased member, Jack Nunneville, was one of the first people to cross the new bridge. His grandfather’s funeral procession was allowed to cross the bridge the day before it opened to the public.

It was reported that Charles Legge was doing poorly when last visited.

Bill Brown reported that he has 29 people signed up so far for the Phillies game on Tuesday evening, August 28^th.

Tom Diemer announced that the Indian King will hold its annual beer tasting fundraiser on September 22^nd. Since this is the largest fundraiser for the organization, Tom encouraged members to come out and support the event.
