The
regular business meeting was held on May 14, 2020. The 65 Club clubhouse was closed due to the Corona virus shutdown.
The meeting was conducted remotely using the Zoom program. President Bill Brown called the
meeting to order at 1:30 PM. There were about
25 members on Zoom.
Bill
called for The Pledge of Allegiance but singing God Bless America was waived
for this meeting. Our Chaplin, David
Tarditi, gave the invocation.
The
secretary gave a synopsis of the last Business Meeting held on April 9, 2020,
which was conducted on Zoom. The most important issue was the missing club mail
and this was resolved. John Cokos had been picking up the mail which was
unknown to the other officers.
The Secretary
also gave a synopsis of the minutes from the May 7, 2020 Board of Director’s
meeting. The minutes were not read. The secretary
informed the attendees the Business Meeting and Board of Directors Meeting minutes
were available from him via e-mail or they could be read on the club website.
Treasurer-
Dave Tarditi gave the financial report.
The club is still in good financial shape. Diligent work by Dave, Roger
Jacobs, and others to contact late paying dues members resulted in 133 out of
139 members have paid their 2020 dues.
President
Bill Brown continued to give suggestions to club members for activities during
the shutdown. This included recommending two movies `Grader’, a sports movie
and `Taking of Pelham 1,2,3’ which is a 1970’s thriller starring Walter
Matthau. Henry Leimkuhler suggested `The Theory of Everything’. Bill also suggested members get together for
walks and asked if members were interested in establishing a club singing
group.
