The meeting was called to order by our president, Al Schmidt,
promptly at, 1:30 PM. There were 18 members present.
The meeting began
with the Pledge of Allegiance and the singing of God Bless America followed by
an invocation by our Chaplin, David Tarditi.
The secretary read the
minutes from the last Business Meeting held on June 14, 2018. The minutes were
approved as read. He also read the minutes from the board of director’s meeting
held on July 6.
David
Tarditi gave the treasurer’s report and posted it on the bulletin board.
Al introduced Bruce Allen as a guest at the meeting. Bruce is a
retired Professor from the Univ. of Pa. and he filled out an application for
membership in the club.
It was reported that Saul Resnick’s wife is now in rehab and doing
better and it was reported that Charles Legge is comfortable in his residence
at the Voorhees Senior Center and looking forward to some card playing as he
improves.
Jay Cokos reported that he will be in contact with our new
superintendent to arrange a date for him to speak to the club. Jay also
reported that he has only a few open slots for the remainder of the year.
Bill
Brown indicated that he will postpone our next trip scheduled for July 24th
to St. John of God in Deptford. To date there is only one person signed up.
Bill also mentioned that he is looking into a Phillies game trip but that this
year the number of participants required to get the 2 for 1 price is 50 people.
He is looking into a Tuesday evening game on September 25th.
It was reported that we had 16 for bridge, 8 for pinochle and 25+
for golf this week.
